About the film: Soorakottai Singakutti is a 1983 Tamil drama directed by Rama Narayanan, produced by A. V. Meiyappan under AVM Productions. Prabhu and Silk Smitha lead the cast, with Gemini Ganesan, C. R. Vijayakumari, S. S. Chandran, Radha Ravi and V. K. Ramasamy in support. Ilaiyaraaja composed the music, and the film released on 9 September 1983. It underperformed at the box office, partly due to audience reluctance to accept Smitha in a lead role.
