About the Film
Keladi Kannmanii (1990) marked the directorial debut of Vasanth, an assistant to K. Balachander, and was produced by A. Sundaram, starring S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Radikaa, Ramesh Aravind, and Anju. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack, released under Echo Records, with lyrics by Gangai Amaran, Vaali, Piraisoodan, Mu. Metha, and Aandal. The famous song "Mannil Indha Kaadhal" features Balasubrahmanyam singing two stanzas in a celebrated "breathless" technique, while "Nee Pathi Naan Pathi" is set to the Carnatic raga Chakravakam.
