About the Film
Andha Oru Nimidam (1985), meaning "That One Minute," was written and directed by Major Sundarrajan, who also played the film's main antagonist, and was produced by Pala. Karuppiah and S. Sampath. It starred Kamal Haasan and Urvashi, with Jayamalini, Thengai Srinivasan, and Pandari Bai in supporting roles. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack with lyrics by Vairamuthu, Gangai Amaran, and Na. Kamarasan, and vocals from S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, S. Janaki, Malaysia Vasudevan, and S. P. Sailaja. The songs were composed near the Aliyar Dam, with the track "Siriya Paravai" reportedly orchestrated by Ilaiyaraaja in just half an hour — a detail fans of his composing process often point to. It's a solid entry in the wider catalogue of Tamil vinyl records from Kamal Haasan's prolific 1980s run.
